Investment Analyst - Real Return

UTIMCO's Real Return group is looking for an Investment Analyst to join its team. The position will be responsible for assisting the Real Return team with analysis and research to help monitor current investments, evaluate potential investment opportunities, and execute specific projects pertaining to the management of UTIMCO's private real estate and infrastructure portfolios.

Overall Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management and Analysis:

• Provide quantitative analysis for investment memos, encompassing primary funds, co-investments, secondaries, and separately managed accounts
• Assist with and participate in regular reviews of the portfolio, including analysis of the portfolio's performance, return attribution, exposures, and risk characteristics
• Prepare standard and ad hoc reports and presentations, ensuring effective communication and transparency with UTIMCO leadership and the Board of Directors

Relationship Management:

• Assist with relationship coverage to several investment managers, representing the Real Return team
• Engage in meetings with investment managers as a part of the team
• Travel with team members to various investment manager meetings, conferences, and asset tours
• Represent UTIMCO in the marketplace with the highest integrity and professionalism
• Communicate effectively and responsibly with UTIMCO staff and promote a collegial working environment

Research and Insights:

• Assist team members on various projects, including research on property types, sectors, countries, or sub-markets of interest across the United States and globally
• Stay updated on the industries covered by Real Return in addition to global capital markets to help identify trends and events that could affect existing investments or provide new investment opportunities

Requirements:

• This is a pre-MBA position ideally suited for individuals with strong financial and analytical skills
• 0-1 year of professional experience in finance or investments
• Degree in finance, accounting, engineering strongly preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential to success in this role
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively convey complex ideas across the organization and within the team
• Interest in private market investing with particular interest in real estate and infrastructure
• Team player possessing intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, thoughtfulness and attention to detail
• A collegial, team-oriented, constructive, "can do" attitude
• Well-versed in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI)

NOTE: This role requires in-office, 4 days a week, Monday thru Thursday.
