Job Title: Drug Court Officer 1 Full Time - 40 hours weekly Range: $23.03 - $26.46 hourly Classification Title: DRUG COURT OFFICER I FLSA Status: NON-EXEMPT The Drug Court Officer I is responsible for supervising a case load of adult offenders under probation supervision, according to state laws. The position involves regular contact with government officials, treatment officials, and community members. It requires the ability to plan, develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate operations and services in a community corrections arena. Essential Functions: Supervise offenders on Misdemeanor Probation and offenders in the Drug Court Program ensuring compliance with court mandates Maintain case files and records, conduct records checks, and develop individualized program plans for offenders Meet with participants and probationers regularly to monitor progress, provide guidance, and perform crisis intervention as needed Conduct drug screenings and complete associated paperwork Collect supervision fees and monitor payment of court fines, costs, and restitution Participate in group meetings, prepare recommendations for court appearances, and coordinate referrals to other agencies Participate in community outreach activities to aid participants in finding work and living accommodations Coordinate with law enforcement officials as necessary regarding activities of those on probation and in the drug court program Prepare various forms, probation violations, reports, correspondence, and other documents related to misdemeanor probation and the Drug Court Program Enter data into computer systems and maintain accurate records Prepare for and testify in probation revocation hearing Attend Criminal Court to pick up new cases Attend Drug Court sessions and participate in the review team process Travel to offender homes or work sites, county jails, and treatment centers Provide support and crisis intervention 24/7 to drug court participants Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social work, or a related field High School diploma in conjunction with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in the field of substance abuse or criminal justice Valid driver’s license Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities: Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Knowledge of drug court and probation principles and practices Experience working with individuals with diverse backgrounds Physical Demands: Ability to travel within the 15th Judicial District and other counties as needed Ability to conduct home visits and meet with participants in various settings Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position and its responsibilities.
