Job Overview Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress‑free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop and find what they’re looking for, ensuring every checkout experience is fast and warm. Event Coordination Plan and coordinate multiple events simultaneously, including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes. Engage clients of all ages, creating an environment of fun and creativity. Demonstrate craft projects, perform face painting and other activities. Facilitate party add‑ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc., to company standards. Communicate event details with clients and store team members. Complete administrative tasks: answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork. Adjust plans and events based on client feedback and needs. Create backup or emergency plans as needed. Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events. Uphold the company’s cleanliness and safety standards; set up, break down, and clean before and after each event. Customer Experience Help customers shop, locate products, and provide solutions. Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience. Engage customers on benefits of the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments. Educate customers on the Voice of the Customer (VOC) survey. Assist with omni‑channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS). Participate in the truck unload, stocking, and planogram (POG) processes. Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance. Perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned. Support shrink and safety programs. Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements. Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner; remain positive and promote the organization’s vision and values; project a positive image and serve as a role model for other team members. Cross‑train in Custom Framing selling and production. Participate in daily store cleanliness activities: sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining cleanliness of restrooms. Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Energetic, enthusiastic, and personable. Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with guests and co‑workers. Excellent people skills. Experience working with children and children’s events. Good communication skills: written, verbal, non‑verbal, and listening. Organizational, interpersonal, and creative problem‑solving skills. Retail and/or customer service experience required. Physical Requirements Ability to remain standing for long periods. Ability to move throughout the store. Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching. Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment. Work Environment Public retail store setting; all public areas are climate‑controlled; some stock rooms may not be climate‑controlled. Some outdoor work may be assigned to retrieve shopping carts or while unloading trucks. Frame shop contains glass cutter and heat press. Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
