PACIFIC PPROPELLER INTERNATIONAL (PPI) BACKGROUND

POSITION PURPOSE
Facilities and Production Equipment Manager is an integral member of our team, leading facility maintenance and safety initiatives for the company. The position oversees ongoing and preventative equipment maintenance; serves as point person for all facility operational systems; and manages compliance with all state, federal and company safety standards
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SUPERVISION AND BRAND MANAGMENT
· Manage individuals, including performance planning and review, training and mentoring, assignment of duties and resolution of human relationship issues that arise.
· Demonstrate stewardship for the PPI Brand.
FACILITIES MANAGMENT
· Ensure compliance with applicable building and safety codes, handling of hazardous materials, hazardous waste disposal, and other relevant regulations.
o Tier II Emergency and Hazardous Chemical Inventory.
o Turbowaste Reporting.
o Pollution Prevention Planning.
- Responsible for the approval of any Extremely Hazardous Substance to ensure that any chemical ordered that exceeds the EPA thresh hold is immediately reported to the LEPC and Puget Sound Fire Prevention.
- Responsible for reporting any chemical spill or release and is responsible for any required follow-up reporting to the Department of Ecology and the LEPC
· Oversee and coordinate projects that involve upgrades or enhancements to HVAC, electrical systems, production floor arrangement, etc. Manage project budgets, timetables, contractors and ensure satisfactory completion of work.
· Establish criteria for repair vs. replacement of equipment and systems. Forecast and plan facility improvements.
· Ensure proper functioning of building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/safety, telecom, security and environmental control systems.
· Lead regulatory, insurance and other audits related to the facility, safety, or environmental concerns.
· Develop and deliver ongoing equipment support programs, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting for NDT, Plating and Machine Shop.
· Support various sales, construction, maintenance and ongoing technical support of production and test equipment.
· Support Engineering projects as needed.
SAFETY MANAGEMENT
- Implement programs including hazard communication, hearing conservation, respiratory protection, emergency evacuation, fire safety, and first aid/CPR training. Document and maintain related training records.
- Formulate safety policies and procedures to follow by personnel in compliance with all regulatory agencies (OSHA, FAA, EPA, DOT, etc.) rules.
- Inspect facilities to detect existing or potential safety or health hazards and recommend corrective or preventative measures. Provide training where necessary.
- Supervise up-to-date inventory and documentation on various hazardous materials stored and used by the facility, including Materials Safety Data Sheet documentation of chemicals in use.
- Coordinate the purchase, proper use, maintenance, inspection, testing and retirement of necessary safety and personal protective equipment.
- As Safety Committee member, assist in investigations, documentation and proper follow-through of accidents or safety related incidents.
- Schedule and conduct periodic safety system drills to ensure all employees are prepared to take action in case of a health or safety emergence.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s Degree from four-year College or university in Engineering, Facilities Management or Safety, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE
- 5 – 10 years’ experience with an Aerospace related field in a similar capacity.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in mechanical systems, maintenance and engineering fields. AS9100 experience preferred, ISO 9001 or 13485 accepted.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events; Attention to detail, ability to balance multiple work assignments; organized work habits; ability to work independently. Ability to cooperate and work with all levels of the company to complete projects. High degree of mechanical and technical aptitude. Working knowledge of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Federal Aviation Requirements (FARS) as they apply to Repair Stations preferred. Ability to write work instructions, processes, and procedures. Must be decisive with strong analytical and technical skills and constructively solve problems with creativity and latitude. Proficiency with major software programs: e.g., M2M, MS Office Suite

Constant (67–100% of time): Walking and standing throughout hangar and production areas; observing operations for safety and compliance; communicating with technicians, vendors, and leadership; using computers and handheld devices; handling light tools and materials (up to 10 lbs.); forward and overhead reaching.
Frequent (34–66% of time): Sitting for administrative, planning, and documentation tasks; inspecting production equipment and facilities; climbing stairs and ladders; bending and stooping; pushing and pulling up to 35 lbs. of force; lifting and carrying materials up to 25 lbs.; operating hand tools and equipment controls in support of maintenance activities.
Occasional (11–33% of time): Squatting or kneeling; working in confined or restricted access areas; lifting up to 50 lbs. from ground to waist; reaching below waist level; performing fine motor tasks for equipment adjustments, troubleshooting, or minor repairs.
Seldom (1–10% of time): lifting up to 75 lbs. (with assistance and/or mechanical aids in accordance with safety policies); prolonged awkward positioning; exposure to loud noise, vibration, chemicals, or other environmental conditions requiring appropriate PPE; extended hands-on repair or installation work typically performed by technicians.
Visual Requirements:
Near visual acuity and depth perception for inspecting equipment, reading technical documents, and monitoring detailed work.
Ability to distinguish colors for wiring, labeling, gauges, and safety indicators.
Ability to read small print, blueprints, schematics, and computer screens.
Peripheral vision and spatial awareness to safely navigate active production and hangar environments.
Ability to adjust focus between near and far distances when overseeing operations and equipment.
SHIFT: Full-Time ; This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
SCHEDULE: 1st Shift – Day’s Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m .
FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT
SALARY RANGE
- The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $95,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
