A&T Technician III - Orbital Welder

The A&T Technician III – Orbital Welder will be based onsite in Niagara Falls, NY reporting to the General Manufacturing & Operations Manager and working first shift. Requirements High School diploma or GED preferred. Ability to understand and apply verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English. Ability to perform simple addition subtraction multiplication and division. At least 3 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities Operate orbital welding and other welding equipment including extensive setup and prep equipment (operate tube trimming equipment and maintain cleanliness standards). Handle set‑ups that are exacting and complicated involving precise parts utilizing various height gauges plates measuring instruments and fixturing; follow and advise on written setup procedures. Operate Tungsten Inert Gas welding equipment both manually and semi‑automatically. Assemble weld process related hardware and fixture installation. Create a weld sample, prepare it for inspection and inspect the results under a microscope to verify requirements. Inspect parts and fixtures under a microscope for weld requirements and workmanship quality. Perform dimensional inspection using a drop gage and indicator where required. Determine operating requirements for voltage temperature position time capacities etc. when precise instructions are not available. Execute precision assembly test and process‑based operations on complex components assemblies and systems supporting new production and repair within a team‑based organization. Use operator techniques critical in considering alignment distance slope control power settings geometry of weld and proximity to edge. Be exposed to mechanical electrical or chemical processes requiring protective eyewear and PPE. Complete a full physical examination including bloodwork pulmonary function testing and fit test.
