Department: UH PopulationHealth Salary: 75,100- 87,000 Description : The Program Director will serve as the Operations lead for anNIH Center grant, providing strategic and day-to-day leadership toensure effective coordination and execution of the Center’sactivities. The ideal candidate will have significant priorexperience directing complex, multi-component research programs, orcenters, with a demonstrated track record of managing teams,budgets, timelines, and cross-functional operations. Thisindividual will work closely with Center Principal Investigator,Core directors, investigators, institutional partners, and NIHstakeholders to align priorities, monitor progress, and ensuresuccessful delivery of milestones and objectives. Strongorganizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadershipskills are essential. Responsible for the operations of a complex center or multipledepartments at the university. Oversees staff and budgets, andprojects.

1. Administers a complex center or multiple departments.
2. Manages budget and engages in strategic planning to ensure allgoals are met.
3. Hires and directs the activities of staff.
4. Resolves personnel issues as they arise.
5. Engages in budget-planning, grant oversight, and policydevelopment.
6. Implements new programs and projects and monitors ongoingactivities of department or center.
7. Reviews department policies and processes and implementsimprovements as needed.
8. Represents department or center to internal and externalconstituents.
9. Performs other job-related duties as required.

MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of boththeoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical orprofessional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than oneprofessional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normallyobtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree froma college or university or an equivalent in-depth specializedtraining program that is directly related to the type of work beingperformed. Experience: Requires a minimum of seven (7) years ofdirectly job-related experience. Certification/Licensing:None.
