Senior Tax Accountant - Family Office

Title: Senior Tax Accountant Location: Pleasant Prairie, WI Job Type: Permanent/Direct-Hire Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000 annually Industry: Wholesale & Distribution About the Role Our firm is partnering with a leading privately held distributor serving businesses across North America to identify a Senior Tax Accountant. This organization operates at a large scale with a diverse tax environment, offering the opportunity to work on complex entity structures and a broad range of tax compliance responsibilities. The Senior Tax Accountant will play a key role in preparing and managing tax filings, conducting research, supporting tax planning activities, and mentoring junior accounting professionals. This position is ideal for a tax professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working with partnerships, S-corporations, and individual tax returns. Key Responsibilities Prepare, maintain, and organize tax records for U.S. S-corporation, partnership, and individual tax returns. Manage the preparation and filing of tax returns, supporting schedules, and related reports. Coordinate and monitor quarterly estimated tax payments and tax filing extensions. Review fixed asset reporting and tax depreciation calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance. Conduct tax research and summarize findings to support business and compliance needs. Maintain shareholder tax records and review individual income tax returns. Provide guidance and support to tax team members throughout the return preparation process. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate tax reporting. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. 4+ years of experience in corporate taxation or public accounting with a focus on tax. Experience preparing and reviewing S-corporation, partnership, and individual tax returns. Strong understanding of federal and state tax compliance requirements. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation. Master's degree in Taxation (MST). Experience with GoSystem Tax RS or similar tax preparation software. Prior experience mentoring or supporting junior tax professionals.
