Project Engineer, Heavy CivilPensacola, FLFull-TimeA large heavy civil contractor with a national footprint and an active Florida program is hiring a Project Engineer to support highway and bridge work in the Pensacola area. This role supports project management and field operations on roadway, bridge, drainage, and infrastructure projects, much of it DOT work, with a clear path to Project Manager.ScheduleFull-time. Approximately 20 to 30 percent field time, with the remainder in the office. Relocation candidates welcome.Compensation$95,000 to $125,000 per year, plus bonus opportunity.What You'll DoThis engineer supports project managers and superintendents on active heavy civil projects, handling RFIs, submittals, drawings, transmittals, approvals, and project documentation. The role tracks cost, quantities, production, materials, equipment, and schedule updates, and schedules work activities and material deliveries with the field team. This position assists with budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and change orders, and communicates regularly with owners, subcontractors, vendors, field crews, and project leadership. The engineer reviews drawings, specifications, and contract documents, spends 20 to 30 percent of their time in the field observing construction progress, and supports safety, quality, and contract compliance throughout each project.Required Qualifications3+ years of engineering experience on heavy civil, highway, road, bridge, drainage, or utility projectsStrong exposure to RFIs, submittals, documentation, cost tracking, and schedulingAbility to read plans, specifications, and contract documentsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related fieldPreferred QualificationsFDOT or other state DOT project experienceExperience with Primavera P6, HCSS, or BluebeamEIT or PE credentialSpanish language proficiencyCompensation and Benefits$95,000 to $125,000 per year, plus bonus opportunityCompany vehicle and fuel card401(k) with company match up to 6%Full benefits packageEducation reimbursementTo apply, submit your resume for consideration.
