Civil Construction Project ManagerASRC Construction, an Alaska-based contractor, seeks an experienced civil construction Project Manager with a history of managing projects for government and commercial clients. The Project Manager oversees the day-to-day management of government and commercial construction projects and assists the team with employee development and cost estimating.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesPromote shareholder hire on all projects.Oversee the construction project from start to finish.Chart out project objectives, set performance requirements, select project participants, and assign individual responsibilities.Optimize utilization of project resources, including labor, material, and equipment.Review all project documents, including contracts, drawings, and specifications, to ensure all requirements are met and risks are addressed.Develop, manage, and enforce project-specific safety requirements.Manage and enforce quality control procedures.Develop project budgets and schedules, analyze project cash flows and resource requirements.Maintain project schedules and revise as appropriate to meet changing requirements.Ensure cost-effective and timely procurement.Analyze project risk and resolve or escalate issues promptly.Visit project sites as needed to inspect and provide support.Review deliverables prepared by the project team as needed before submission to client.Ensure project documentation is complete, current, and filed appropriately.Manage project budget and prepare monthly project cost projections and other financial reports.Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, monitor receivables, and follow up with clients as needed.Review employee timesheets, subcontractor pay requests, and vendor invoices for accuracy.Track project closeout requirements and ensure timely submission of closeout documents.Effectively facilitate internal, subcontractor, and client meetings and communicate relevant project issues.Engage with project stakeholders and direct project communications to appropriate parties.Provide leadership to junior project team members and promote employee development.Provide regular reporting of relevant project information to the General Manager.Ensure all required permits, licenses, insurance, and clearances are in place for the project.Ensure all required legal postings, SDS, wage statements, etc. are posted at the project site.Perform other related duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesWillingness to abide by the company's code of conduct, policies, and procedures.Willingness to comply with, understand, and support the company's safety culture.Strong understanding of and sensitivity to the Inupiat culture.Ability to interpret documents such as contracts, construction drawings and specifications, and RFPs.Ability to write project plans, schedule narratives, and client correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or clients.Ability to tactfully communicate difficult or sensitive information.Knowledge of building systems including electrical, mechanical, and fire protection.Ability to prioritize and multitask to meet assigned deadlines.Well-developed management and administrative skills.Strong analytical and reasoning abilities.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Core Competency RequirementsCustomer Focus – Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.Decision Quality – Makes good decisions based on a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgement.Drive For Results – Can be counted on to exceed goals successfully.Conflict Management – Steps up to conflicts, seeing them as opportunities; can find common ground and get cooperation with minimal noise.Qualifications/ExperienceRequiredBachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business management, or another related field.Ten (10) years experience with increasing management responsibility within a construction company or relevant organization.Experience in heavy civil construction and underground utilities.Proficiency with Microsoft Office products at an intermediate level.Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Ability to obtain and maintain any clearances required for the position, including military installation access.PreferredExperience constructing projects for federal and state government agencies, such as U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Air Force, and Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities.Experience constructing projects for commercial clients in the oil and gas and mining industries.Experience constructing projects in remote locations with significant logistics requirements.Proficiency with Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, AutoCAD, HCCS/Heavybid.Experience using USACE RMS 3.0 and other project management systems.Experience estimating government and commercial construction projects.Physical DemandsThe physical demands of the job require regular talking and hearing, frequent sitting, reaching, and using hands.
