JOB SUMMARY AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Sets-up and operates machine tools such as lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, and lapping and polishing machines, to machine parts to specifications. Builds parts from blueprints supplied by others. Develops specifications from general descriptions and draws sketches of parts to be fabricated.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate manual and CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.)
• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Measure and inspect finished products for quality assurance
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with team to continuously improve manufacturing processes
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED; Associates degree in a field related to machine tool technologies preferred
• 5+ years' experience as a machinist, or 2+ years’ experience as a machinist and a current certification in machining technologies
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and using precision measuring tools
• Knowledge of machining processes, metal properties, and cutting tools
• Experience with CNC programming and operation
• Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Be able to be stationary, stand, sit and/or bend frequently or for extended periods of time.
• Actively listen and exchange verbal and written information.

• Must be able to frequently lift / carry and push / pull 50 pounds.
