Job Title: RN ER Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 11.5 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent ER RN experience License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (mandatory) Must-Have: Ventilator experience, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, good written and verbal communication skills Description: Assess patients' clinical conditions, recognizing and interpreting serious situations. Prioritize and immediately decide upon and take proper action. Initiate appropriate measures in emergency situations when the physician is not immediately available. Operate and monitor general and specialized emergency care equipment such as infusion pumps, pulse oximeters, ventilators, and cardiac monitors. Administer therapeutic measures as prescribed by the physician, including medications and IV therapy that alter hemodynamic status, respiratory therapy, and mechanical ventilation. Record observations, nursing interventions, therapeutic measures administered, and status of coordinated activities between nursing and other professional disciplines. Document specific health care requirements for patients and prepare written assignments for individual team members. Plan and develop care delivery and implementation of the plan and coordinate the documentation of care. Share responsibilities for sustaining adequate supplies and equipment, as well as general upkeep of the unit and preserving a safe environment. Be prepared to float to other units as needed. Must be able to work every other weekend and holidays. Scrubs are required to be red.
