Registered Nurse NICU Clinical Coordinator

Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso, Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse NICU Clinical Coordinator to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will coordinate and support the daily clinical operations of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and compassionate care to critically ill and premature newborns. Working closely with the NICU nurse manager, neonatologists, and a multidisciplinary care team, you will serve as a clinical resource at the bedside, assist with patient assignments, and help manage patient flow, staffing, and acuity throughout the shift. You will use your strong assessment skills to oversee the care of newborns requiring high-level monitoring, respiratory support, medication management, and complex interventions, while promoting evidence-based practice and adherence to hospital policies and regulatory standards. As a clinical leader, you will mentor and coach NICU nurses and support staff, provide real-time education, precept new team members, and help identify ongoing staff development needs. You will participate in performance improvement initiatives, quality and safety projects, and data collection related to outcomes, patient satisfaction, infection prevention, and core measures. Collaboration and communication are essential, as you will regularly interface with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, social workers, and families to coordinate and optimize individualized plans of care. The NICU Clinical Coordinator will also play a key role in emergency and high-intensity situations, including neonatal codes, rapid changes in patient condition, and complex procedures, ensuring that the team responds swiftly and effectively.
