Assistant Manager II

Responsibilities Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day activities. Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns. Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas. Perform opening and closing procedures as needed. Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications. Maintain promotional effectiveness of store‑front fixtures and displays. Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts), and loss prevention. Maintain well‑stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards; protect and secure company assets, including store cash. Adhere to policies and procedures, including safety guidelines, and ensure all associates follow them. Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates; foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment. Maintain cleanliness throughout the store: cleaning/restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable. Perform other duties as assigned. Provide required background information for alcohol and/or tobacco licenses, as required by local jurisdiction. Failure to comply may result in demotion or separation. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives. Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred. Physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills. Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment. Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
