Job Description

This full-time contract position (37.5 hours per week) places you at the heart of a self-contained elementary classroom designed for students with a range of disabilities, including Autism. Your expertise will help shape a safe, engaging, and structured learning setting for students who benefit from your understanding, patience, and creative instructional strategies.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Current certification or licensure in Special Education (as required by state regulations)
Demonstrated experience working with children diagnosed with Autism and other multiple disabilities
Prior experience in an elementary setting or self-contained special education classroom strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
Excellent communication, collaboration, and behavior management skills

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver specialized instruction and interventions to meet the diverse needs of students
Develop, modify, and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and families
Maintain a positive, organized, and supportive classroom environment focused on student progress and engagement
Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate physical, cognitive, and emotional needs
Foster meaningful connections with students, families, and colleagues
Ensure compliance with all district, state, and federal special education regulations
