Wasington St.,Shelby, NC, 28150,United States Base Pay $17.50 - $21.00 / Hour Employee Type FT Non-Exempt Required Degree High school Description General Position Description: Under general supervision provides crisis support services to consumers receiving 24/7/365 crisis services. This may include the following levels of care/services; Gaylain’s House of Hope (for female staff as applicable) and/or any other service assigned by the supervisor. Primary duties include supporting the medical and clinical services being provided to consumers, including; maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, assisting consumers with basic needs, e.g., providing bedding/towels, assisting with meal preparation, washing clothing, motivational counseling to enhance service delivery, transportation, and other duties assigned by supervisor. Performance Expectations and Competencies 1. Shall demonstrate the use of knowledge/skill/judgment and provide 24/7/365 crisis management services that evidence ethical performance, and meet the needs of persons served and other stakeholders. Performance tasks shall include, but not be limited to: a. Under the direct supervision of a supervisor or Team Lead RN, shall utilize knowledge/skill to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment and support professional services that are provided within 24/7/365 services. b. Use of least restrictive interventions to promote consumer autonomy and assure safety for employees and other consumers on the unit. c. Effective communication with consumers to enhance motivation and commitment to the recovery process. d. Providing basic individual and group communication and support groups. i. Daily Meditation ii. WRAP Groups iii. Orientation Groups v. Basic Skill Development vi. Social Activities e. Taking accurate vital signs that include blood pressure, pulse, respirations monitoring general health status and safety, and observing self-administration or medication administration as applicable. f. Consumer Documentation to include: i. Understanding of rules and structure of the unit ii. Self-medication and MAR forms. g. Consumer Record Documentation to include: i. Service Notes ii. Confidentiality and Privacy Practice Documentation iii. General admission and referral forms. h. Transport of consumers to community resources. i. Provide adequate supervision and adherence to the rules by the CTI consumers j. Monitor and report to supervisor any issues that become apparent with a CTI consumer k. Use of a community-based team approach that utilizes the resources of the community, consumer, and treatment team, to achieve positive consumer outcomes, stabilize the crisis, and appropriately transition the consumer to needed services and supports. l. Shall demonstrate the ability to work/be a part of 24/7/365 organizational and therapeutic teams, and maintain positive working relationships with consumers, community stakeholders, referral organizations, and other employees/ departments of PCC. m. Monitoring and maintaining internal control of consumer funds. n. Shall develop a working knowledge of applicable organizational policy and procedure and demonstrate compliance. This shall include, but not be limited to: Employee Ethics/Corporate Compliance/Consumer Rights Clinical Policy and Procedure Medication administration(as required by supervisor) General Knowledge and Skills Required for the Position: General Knowledge of the dynamics of MH/DD/SA behavioral health disorders (BHD) and their impact upon persons served and their families; the bio/psycho/social factors involved in (BHD); up-to-date principles/techniques (evidence-based/best practices) of crisis response, prevention, and intervention application to individuals possessing (BHD); the community resources available to persons with (BHD), to include behavioral health, social service, community services, and self-help groups; knowledge of billing and service record documentation requirements, NC Division of MH/DD/SA, ASAM/MCO, CARF and PCC policy/procedure. General Skill in the application of crisis assessment/prevention/intervention techniques that are considered ethical evidence-based/best practices as defined by the NC Division of MH/DD/SA, and/or literature/research, and organizational policy/procedure; skill in the delivery of services using accepted crisis treatment modalities, to include, individual, family, marital, and in-community; skill in establishing/maintaining effective therapeutic and professional relationships with persons served and/or their family members; behavioral health providers; and, skill in accurately documenting services provided and billed. Preferred and Minimum Position Qualifications:

1. At a minimum, the individual must meet the NC Division of MH/DD/SA requirements for Paraprofessionals.
2. High School Diploma or equivalent.
3. At least one (1) year experience in delivering clinical crisis services. Credit may be given for previous crisis experience in other job positions, practicums, and internships as this experience relates to the provision of crisis services.
4. Preference may be given to individuals who are a Certified Peer Support Specialist (or pursuing certification) or Alcohol and Drug Counselor.

Additional Job Requirements (Licenses, Certifications, Personal Vehicle, etc.):

1. Valid driver’s license (may be waived by a supervisor if the individual is a certified peer support specialist or CSAC)
2. 24/7/365 shift work is required for this position which may include availability by phone to work shifts and cover increased acuity on the unit or as requested by the supervisor.
3. Must have the ability to lift to 20 pounds.
4. Must have the ability to move freely and be mobile for a minimum of 6 - 8 hours during work shift.
5. Travel is required as part of this position and may use the company-supplied vehicle and/or use of personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement as defined in PCC policy/procedure.
6. Must have the ability to operate a telephone, fax machine, and computer hardware/software.
7. Must have the ability to write in a manner that is legible/readable/understandable.
8. Willingness to work in a high-stress/risk environment that is driven by team performance
9. Transportation to and from work in various environmental conditions 24/7 services are essential services that must operate 24/7/365.
10. Must complete and remain in compliance with the following training/certifications:

a. First Aid/CPR b. EBPI – A/B d. Medication Management e. Defensive Driving f. Others as specified by program requirements. Essential Equipment Routinely Used In This Position:

1. Computer and Software to include: Microsoft Office, Internet, and other database software

3. Driving of automobile
