What You'll Do

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) , you will:

Support Daily Living Skills

• Assist individuals with daily living activities and household responsibilities.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized residential environment.
• Support individuals in developing independent living and household management skills.
• Encourage participation in daily schedules and goal-directed activities.

Medication & Health Support

• Assist individuals with medication management and prescription pick-up processes.
• Monitor medication counts and maintain medication logs.
• Witness and document self-administration of medications according to program guidelines.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments and assist with follow-up recommendations.

Recovery-Oriented Support

• Support a positive, recovery-focused residential environment.
• Assist with conflict resolution and crisis intervention.
• Participate in therapeutic and recreational activities.
• Facilitate socialization, recreation, and community engagement opportunities.
• Encourage progress toward individual recovery goals and clinical assignments.

Documentation & Administrative Duties

• Complete contact notes and required documentation accurately and on time.
• Participate in fire drills and safety activities as assigned.
• Review and complete shift log documentation.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.

Additional Responsibilities

• Transport or accompany individuals to appointments and community activities.
• Collaborate with clinical and program staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support continuity of care and program success.

QualificationsRequired

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License
• Basic computer and internet skills
• Ability to utilize email, timekeeping systems, and electronic documentation platforms
• Ability to complete required employment screenings and background checks
• Successful completion of orientation and required training

Preferred

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field
• Previous experience in human services, behavioral health, or direct support
• Experience working in community-based residential programs

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Customer service and relationship-building abilities
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
• Three-year acceptable Motor Vehicle Record

Schedule

• Part-Time
• Variable scheduling based on program needs
• Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required
• Additional hours may be available based on staffing needs

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed
• Ability to participate in community activities and transportation responsibilities
• Ability to safely respond to emergencies and crisis situations
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
