(MRM) is an established aerospace and precision manufacturing company specializing in CNC machining and high-quality components for the aerospace and defense industries. We manufacture complex parts and assemblies for major aerospace customers, maintaining a strong commitment to quality, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Planning Engineer to join our team in developing and maintaining detailed manufacturing methods for machined parts, subassemblies, and final assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and contract clauses. This role translates customer requirements into clear, accurate, and efficient manufacturing plans that drive production.

Responsibilities

• Review customer engineering drawings, technical specifications, and purchase orders to develop detailed manufacturing plans and bill of materials.
• Create and maintain routers, work instructions, shop travelers, and operation sequences for CNC machining, subassemblies, final assemblies, and secondary processes.
• Define required tooling, fixturing, gauges, and quality inspection points for production.
• Collaborate with estimating, CNC programming, quality assurance, and shop floor production teams to ensure alignment on job requirements and production scheduling.
• Ensure all technical data packages are complete, accurate, and up to date prior to shop floor release.
• Support engineering change orders, revision control updates, and process documentation maintenance.
• Identify opportunities for lean process improvement, cost reduction, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Assist with troubleshooting manufacturing issues, root cause analysis, and providing technical support to production.
• Coordinate outside processing such as heat treat, anodize, plating, and testing required for aerospace components.

Qualifications

• 3 to 7 plus years of experience as a manufacturing planning engineer, manufacturing engineer, or production planner in an aerospace manufacturing or CNC machining environment.
• Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T principles.
• Proven experience creating routers, work instructions, and manufacturing process plans.
• Direct working knowledge of AS9100 quality management standards, ISO standards, and aerospace quality requirements.
• Broad understanding of aerospace raw materials, CNC machining processes, and outside processing requirements.
• Proficiency with ERP and MRP software such as JobBoss, as well as CAD and CAM software like CATIA and NX.
• Strong organizational skills, problem solving abilities, and high attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional team collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with major defense and aerospace prime contractors such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, or Sikorsky.
• Practical hands-on background in CNC programming, setup, or CNC machining operations.
• Advanced knowledge of GD&T geometric dimensioning and tolerancing applications.
