Role Description The Certified Athletic Trainer is a full-time, on-site role based in Fairfax, VA, Centreville, VA, Ashburn, VA, and Reston, VA. You will be the primary assistant to our Hand and Wrist Surgeon Dr. Khoshnevisan. You will assist in the evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients with hand and wrist injuries both in the clinic and operating room. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing injuries, designing and implementing injury prevention and rehabilitation programs, and providing education to patients and caregivers on safe movement, exercise, and recovery strategies. You triage patient question and communication request to Dr Khoshnevisan and our advanced practitioner on his team. In the operating room you will be assisting with surgeries, closing surgical sites, applying post operative splint, and updating the post operative needs of the patient. The athletic trainer will coordinate patients therapeutic exercise programs, document patient progress in accordance with clinic protocols, and collaborate closely with physicians, occupational and physical therapists, and medical assistants to ensure coordinated care. The role also involves maintaining treatment areas and equipment, adhering to safety and compliance standards, and contributing to patient-focused initiatives that enhance outcomes and satisfaction. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in assessment and management of orthopedic conditions. Able to stay organized in a fast-paced environment. Current certification as an Athletic Trainer (BOC) and eligibility for or possession of state licensure in Virginia. Bilingual in Spanish, preferred but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team and educate diverse patient populations. Ability to perform physical tasks associated with orthopaedic assessment, maintain accurate documentation, and follow clinic policies and regulatory standards.
