Quality Assurance Manager

Location: Eugene, OR
Salary: $80,000–$115,000 DOE
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Employment Type: Direct Hire

Position Overview

We are partnering with an established food manufacturer in Eugene, Oregon, to hire an experienced Quality Assurance Manager . This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing quality assurance and regulatory compliance activities across a diverse natural ingredient portfolio.

The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the day-to-day QA function, oversee and develop Quality Control team members, and partner closely with Production, Procurement, Product Management, Sales, and other teams to ensure products consistently meet quality, food safety, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead quality assurance and regulatory compliance activities in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, GMPs, food safety requirements, and GFSI standards.
  • Manage product specifications and ensure finished products consistently meet quality expectations.
  • Oversee in-house testing, lab activities, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Serve as a key liaison with regulatory agencies, including the FDA and USDA , and support audits, certifications, complaints, recalls, and withdrawal activities.
  • Oversee product labeling, ingredient statements, nutritional panels, shelf-life testing, specifications, and quality documentation.
  • Partner with Procurement to evaluate new materials and provide recommendations based on quality and performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Provide technical expertise to internal teams and external customers.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Quality Assurance professionals, including training, performance management, and professional development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Foods & Nutrition, Food Engineering, or a related discipline required.
  • 5-7+ years of progressive Quality Assurance experience , ideally within a food manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of people and/or project leadership experience within manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of food manufacturing, product development, food safety principles, GMPs, and regulatory requirements .
  • Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing team members.
  • Experience supporting regulatory audits and working with applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Strong project management, critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, communication, and follow-through.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
