Field Technician

Job Details: Location: Wayne County, Ohio - Wooster, OH 44691. Position Type: Full Time. Salary Range: $25.00 - $25.00 Hourly. Overview Dairy One Cooperative seeks a Dairy Herd Improvement (DHI) Technician to sample milk from individual cows, collect critical data to aid farms in achieving production and profit goals, and provide timely, accurate, and meaningful information to cooperative owners. The role is on‑site at various dairy operations throughout the Wayne County, OH region. Responsibilities The DHI Technician will: Sample milk from individual cows, record cow numbers, and monitor data for accuracy. Sanitize equipment, set up and clean milking parlors, and print reports and invoices. Deliver samples, maintain accurate records, and prepare and send invoices. Drive to farms, conduct on‑site visits and consultations, and communicate with farmers and Dairy One management. Coordinate scheduling with team leaders, be dependable and prompt, and uphold Dairy One values of Integrity, Professionalism, Commitment, Innovation, Positivity, and Safety. Work autonomously across the territory, which may include evening and weekend hours; no overnight travel is required. Build relationships with farmers in assigned circuits and new farms. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Reliable transportation. Some dairy farm experience. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and passion for livestock production. Physical capability to perform farm work; experience in genetics, feed, cattle, herd health, or related fields is a plus.
