Senior Accounting & Financial Analyst

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accounting & Financial Analyst to support the Accounting Manager with financial review, account reconciliation, profitability analysis, customer deductions, and management reporting.

The ideal candidate should be able to independently identify discrepancies, analyze root causes, and recommend appropriate accounting or process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review monthly financial statements, General Ledger activity, and balance sheet accounts for accuracy and unusual transactions.
• Analyze profitability by customer, sales channel, product, and order, including sales, COGS, freight, discounts, deductions, and returns.
• Review customer deductions and chargebacks, determine dispute opportunities, and track recovery results.
• Reconcile AR, customer payments, credit memos, deposits, refunds, and clearing accounts.
• Investigate accounting discrepancies and assist with month-end and year-end close.
• Prepare management reports including sales, margin, deduction trends, AR aging, and profitability analysis.
• Support bank reporting, CPA requests, audits, and other accounting projects.
• Work with Sales, Warehouse, Operations, and Accounting teams to improve processes and reduce recurring issues.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Strong understanding of GL accounting and financial statements.
• Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and SUMIFS.
• NetSuite experience preferred.
• Experience with retail, e-commerce, deductions, or chargebacks is a plus.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and investigate discrepancies from beginning to resolution.
