About You

As a clinical leader in our hospital, you'll drive positive change and medical excellence. In collaborative partnership with the Practice Manager and hospital leadership team, you will guide the hospital's medical standards, support hospital performance, and foster a positive, collaborative culture. Central to this role is your active involvement in recruiting and retaining top veterinary talent, coaching and developing associate DVMs, and upholding high standards of patient care.

You'll mentor and develop associate veterinarians, support hospital operations through effective leadership and data informed decision making, and play a key part in shaping clinical excellence and team engagement while modeling Thrive Pet Healthcare's Core Values.

We're a full service general practice located in the heart of East Memphis, Tennessee, providing comprehensive wellness and preventive care, vaccinations, dentistry, surgery, diagnostics, urgent care, and emergency care during regular business hours. Our experienced team is committed to delivering compassionate, personalized care while helping pet owners make informed decisions throughout every stage of their pets' lives.

We are open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., proudly serving East Memphis and the surrounding communities.

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience, with an annual PROSAL full-time range of $160,000–$175,000/year. The actual salary offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. This role also includes an additional Medical Director stipend, paid biweekly, which provides a substantial component of protected administrative time, along with an elevated production percentage and quarterly production bonus payouts.

*Sign-On Bonus of up to $50,000 and Retention Bonus of up to $25,000 over three years.

Your Experience & Skills

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree required; must hold a valid state veterinary board license in good standing for the state of hire prior to start date.

• Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible.

• At least three years of veterinary practice experience.

• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop team members.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and oral communication.

• Sound medical reasoning skills and strong medical ethics.
