Overview Registered Nurse – Med Surg | Saint Johnsbury Center, Vermont, United States | Start 06/24/2026 | 13 weeks | $1,823-$1,888 per week | Guaranteed hours 36 per week | Shift: Day shifts, 3x12-hour (7am–7pm), includes every other weekend | Critical Access Hospital setting. This assignment focuses on coordinating care for adult patients with occasional pediatric cases in a general Med/Surg unit. It is not a pediatrics-only role. Key Highlights

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct bedside nursing care to adult patients, with occasional pediatric patients, in a general Med/Surg unit
• Apply the Nursing Process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; monitor status and respond to changes
• Administer medications and coordinate procedures in collaboration with the care team
• Collaborate with the Unit Director, Clinical Nurse Lead, and Nursing Supervisor to ensure safe, high-quality care and effective teamwork
• Document care accurately in the charting system; participate in rounds, discharge planning, and patient/family education
• Maintain clinical competencies, emphasize infection control and patient safety, and support appropriate utilization of Meditech if applicable
• Support a holistic approach to care, addressing age-related, physiological, psychosocial, and developmental needs

Requirements

• Active Vermont RN license or multi-state RN licensure
• BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS certification required prior to start
• Minimum 3 years of acute care experience; Med/Surg experience preferred
• Ability to care for adults with occasional pediatric patients; not a pediatrics-only role
• Must be able to start 06/24/2026
• Comfortable working in a general Med/Surg setting under supervision of leadership staff
