Associate Director, Major Giving (Northeast)

Job Description The Associate Director, Major Giving, reports to the Director, Regional Major Giving (Northeast and Southeast) and is responsible for the qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individuals primarily in the New York City, Fairfield County, and North Jersey areas who are capable of making gifts of $250,000 to $4,900,000. Responsibilities Build and manage a portfolio of approximately 110 prospects, conducting more than 110 substantive visits and raising at least $1,350,000 annually. Devise creative strategies for guiding relationships and the ultimate solicitation of prospects by collaborating closely with colleagues internal to University Advancement and external stakeholders or volunteers. Write effective solicitation letters and proposals and demonstrate strategic relationship management to maximize fundraising productivity. Provide staff support for volunteer committees as assigned. Develop productive working relationships with key volunteers. Collaborate and partner with fellow major gift officers and other fundraising units including Athletic Development, Corporate and Foundation Relations, Gift Planning, Leadership & Annual Giving, and School Development. Achieve productivity measured through individual performance. Salary Associate Director (1-3 years experience): $99,900 - $124,850. Associate Director (3-5 years related professional experience): $110,300 - $137,900. Qualifications Bachelor's degree. 1-3 years directly related experience successfully closing gifts of $50,000 or more, preferably in a complex higher education environment (for the 1-3 year level). 3-5 years directly related fundraising experience successfully closing gifts of $100,000 or more, preferably in a complex higher education environment (for the 3-5 year level). Travel and some evening and weekend work required. Valid driver's license required. Demonstrated ability to speak and write persuasively about higher education and the Jesuit tradition. Proficiency with technology and relevant software applications such as e-mail, MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint. Team player who is highly motivated and dedicated to the goals of advancing higher education and has an appreciation for Jesuit Catholic education and the values of Boston College.
