Position Title: Marketing & Communications Intern (Special Events and Communications)Reports To: Director of Special Events and CommunicationsFTE/Classifications: Part-Time, Seasonal/Non-ExemptLocation: 496 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell, NJ 07649Internship Period: September 14, 2026 to December 4, 2026Hours: Must complete 150-200 hours in 10 weeksHourly Rate: $20/hr (OSHE Grant; Career Accelerator Internship Grant Program) Primary Function: The Marketing & Communications Intern will support Special Events and Communications in promoting NJFH's programs, events, and mission. This is a hands-on Fall opportunity for a creative and motivated student to gain real-world experience in nonprofit marketing, social media, storytelling, and community engagement. The intern will play a key role in helping share the stories of NJFH members, programs, and impact with the community, donors, and partners. Performance Responsibilities: Although each position has its own unique duties and responsibilities, the following listing applies to every employee, intern, volunteer, etc. of North Jersey Friendship House, Inc.:Works towards the accomplishment of department/Agency goalsMaintains confidentiality and immediately reports to management breaches in confidentialityPractices job/intern requirements on an accurate, timely and regular basisObserves and maintains appropriate professional boundaries with members, co-workers and supervisorsAttends all scheduled meetings assignedMeets relevant continuing educational/training requirements if applicableCompletes all required documentation/paperwork accurately and within established time frames. Essential Functions:Assist in creating content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and newslettersHelp design digital and print marketing materials such as flyers, graphics, and event promotionsSupport photography and videography at programs and events (when appropriate)Draft and edit website updates, blog posts, and email communicationsConduct research on marketing trends, audience engagement, and peer organizationsAssist with event promotion and fundraising campaign materialsHelp track social media analytics and engagement metricsMaintain organized digital files of photos, graphics, and marketing assetsSupport other communications and events projects as needed  Requirements:Current student or recent graduate (within one year of graduation) in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or related fieldStrong written and verbal communication skillsFamiliarity with social media platforms and content creationBasic knowledge of Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools preferredInterest in nonprofit work, community engagement, or human servicesDetail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projectsComfortable working both independently and as part of a team Contact Information:Kathy English, Director of Special Events and Communications201-488-2121 ext.
