Surgical Technologist

Job Summary:

The Surgical Tech in the Operating Room is responsible for providing safe and effective patient care during surgical procedures. This role involves preparing, assembling, and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment, scrubbing for a variety of surgical cases, and ensuring a sterile and organized work environment. The Surgical Tech participates in 24-hour call coverage to support surgical operations as needed. Responsibilities:

• Prepare, assemble, and maintain operating room instrumentation and equipment.
• Scrub in and assist during a wide variety of surgical cases.
• Ensure safe and therapeutically effective patient care throughout surgical procedures.
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized work area in the operating room.
• Participate in 24-hour call coverage to provide timely surgical support.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Washington State Surgical Tech license.
• Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification.
• Ability to maintain sterile technique and operate surgical instruments proficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills within the surgical team.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Previous experience in operating room or surgical settings (less than 1 year experience acceptable).
• Familiarity with a wide variety of surgical procedures and instrumentation.

Special Considerations:

• Participation in 24-hour on-call coverage is required.
• Work environment includes exposure to surgical and sterile conditions.

Scheduling:

• Shift schedules include coverage for surgical procedures and 24-hour on-call rotation.
• Shifts may vary based on surgical case load and emergency needs.
