The ER Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others. Essential duties and responsibilities include delivering patient care, assessing and evaluating patient care needs, integrating assessment and intervention skills, collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, prioritizing patient care, educating patients and caregivers, communicating effectively, managing assignments, role modeling care, considering patient values and preferences, establishing therapeutic relationships, using evidence-based practices, initiating service recovery, demonstrating caring and respect, supporting staff use of evidence-based practices, conducting purposeful hourly rounding, practicing safe and efficient patient-centered care, implementing process improvement strategies, engaging in peer and institutional review processes, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, contributing to quality and safety practices, implementing principles of high reliability, utilizing institutional information technology, performing charge nurse duties, coordinating with clinical coordinators, escalating material or staffing resource deficits, demonstrating patient focused and cost effective approaches, documenting accurately, facilitating patient throughput, contributing to the environment of care, advancing clinical competence, projecting a professional image, incorporating ethical principles, encouraging life-long learning, acquiring knowledge and skills, and participating in shared decision making.

Skills: NYS RN License, ACLS, BLS, Mandatory minimum 2 years Emergency Medicine experience (adults and/or pediatrics), 1 yr travel exp for EPIC exp highly pref. Trauma experience is a plus. Certifications such as TNCC, ENPC, CEN is a plus.

Education: BSN plus ACLS, BLS; PALS Required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required NIHSS Certification required.
