We are looking for an experienced Sr. Tax Accountant to support a well-established CPA firm. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented tax accountant who brings strong technical knowledge, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to manage a steady volume of return preparation work. The role will focus on delivering accurate tax filings for individuals and business entities while maintaining compliance with current tax regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individual clients, S corporations, and partnerships with a high degree of accuracy.
• Manage a substantial workload of tax engagements while meeting filing deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
• Apply current tax law knowledge to identify reporting requirements, resolve issues, and support compliant return preparation.
• Analyze financial records and supporting documentation to ensure complete and accurate tax reporting.
• Use CCH ProSystem Fx and Microsoft Excel to organize tax data, prepare workpapers, and complete return processing efficiently.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders or client contacts to clarify missing information and address tax-related questions.
• Review completed returns for inconsistencies, calculation errors, and documentation gaps before finalization.
• At least 5 years of tax preparation experience in a public accounting firm or similar accounting environment.• Demonstrated expertise preparing individual, S corporation, and partnership tax returns.
• Strong understanding of applicable tax regulations and filing requirements across multiple return types.
• Proven ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
• Hands-on experience with CCH ProSystem Fx is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for organizing data, reviewing details, and supporting tax preparation activities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver work within established deadlines.
