Heavy Equipment OperatorThis position involves operating dozers and other heavy equipment on construction and environmental job sites across multiple locations. Steady, long-term work is available with competitive pay and benefits. Heavy Equipment Operators are responsible for safely and efficiently operating dozers and other heavy equipment to support erosion control and site stabilization projects. This role includes performing grading and site preparation, assisting with erosion control installations such as slope preparation, access road construction, and material placement. The operator works under the direction of the Superintendent, follows project plans, and helps the crew meet daily production and quality targets on active construction sites. Daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance are required to keep machinery operating safely and reliably. Travel to out-of-town job sites is expected as needed, with per diem provided.Equipment Operation:Operate assigned equipment, which may include excavators, skid steers, dozers, loaders, backhoes, trenchers, vacuum trucks, and compaction equipmentWork from project plans, drawings, and specificationsSet and verify grades, slopes, and material placement as directedMove between equipment types and jobsites based on daily assignmentsSafety:Follow OSHA and company safety requirementsTake part in daily safety briefingsReport hazards and near misses to the SuperintendentWear required PPEStop work when conditions are unsafeEquipment Inspection & Care:Complete daily pre-operation inspections and submit inspection reportsReport maintenance and repair needs promptlyKeep assigned equipment clean and servicedOperate equipment within its rated capacityProduction & Quality:Complete assigned tasks accurately and keep pace with the daily planLimit idle time and avoidable downtimeCoordinate with laborers, foremen, and other operatorsAssist with loading and unloading materialsReport field conditions that don't match the planRequired Qualifications:2+ years operating heavy equipment on construction or site workValid driver's licenseAbility to read basic construction plans and grade stakesSituational awareness on active jobsites with equipment, crews, and trafficAbility to work outdoors in varying weather and on uneven terrainAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screenPreferred:Erosion control, hydroseeding, or land-disturbance experienceOSHA 10CDL, Class A or BBasic mechanical knowledge — greasing, fluid checks, minor field repairsComfort using a smartphone or tablet for time entry and inspection reportsWork Environment & Physical Requirements:Operating equipment for extended periods; climbing on and off equipment; lifting up to [50] lbsExposure to heat, cold, dust, and noiseBenefits:Overtime, per diem or travel pay, PTO and holidays, 401(k), PPE providedEco Express LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
