R1403N - Manager of Surgical Recovery Services Fort Worth LifeGift is currently looking for a Manager of Surgical Recovery Services at our Fort Worth office. In this position you will be responsible for the daily aspects of the organ recovery, preservation, and perfusion of organs for transplantation and research. The Manager is responsible for overseeing the training of the DRS (Donation Recovery Specialists), DRS Team Leads, and Scrub Technicians, as well as maintaining expertise and knowledge of the organ recovery process, OPTN, LifeGift policy, and CMS standards. The Manager supervises the DRS Team Leads, DRS, and Scrub Technicians staff, ensuring professional, expert, and compassionate care. The Manager also facilitates the general activities required throughout donor recovery, organ perfusion, and organ distribution logistics. Essential Functions: Manage and directly supervise the daily activities of assigned staff. Manage and perform organ preservation, packaging, labeling, and delivery of organs. Manage and ensure that equipment required for the recovery process and transport equipment is available for the DRS to transport to the recovery location. Manage and review documentation for organ recovery and perfusion. Oversee, manage, and analyze data for kidney perfusion and transplant outcomes for quarterly reports to the Medical Advisory Committee. Manage and review documentation in the donor medical record, pre‑op, intra‑op, and post‑op. Oversee and manage DRS Team Leads and DRS staff placing kidneys on preservation pump, monitoring kidney function during perfusion, delivering kidneys on the preservation pump to transplant centers, while ensuring proper verification of donor information and allocation. Serve as DRS Administrator on Call (AOC) for all of the LifeGift regions. Create and monitor the schedule for 24/7 coverage of DRS Team Leads, DRS, and Scrub Technicians for organ preservation in the southeast (SE) region. Education and Experience: Have at least 2‑5 years of progressive experience performing organ recoveries in the operating room. Hold a Bachelor’s degree and possess Certified Scrub Technician, Certified First Assistant, and Certified Transplant Perfusionist experience. Have supervisory experience leading a team with surgical skills. This role requires frequent travel and the ability to commute to different hospital partners within our service area, as well as availability to work 12‑hour shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
