Packaging TechnicianLocation: East Durham, NY 12423 Type: Contract Compensation: $24.50/hr Work Model: Onsite Hours: 7:00am to 7:00pm. 2/2/3 rotating scheduleResponsibilitiesSupport the packaging area to analyze root causes for process improvement and cost reductionsOperate fully automated toothpaste packaging lines at speeds up to 450 tubes per minuteHandle packaging materials including cases, cartons, bundles, rolls, slip sheets, caps, corners, pallets, and finished goodsMaintain cleanliness of the area and equipmentPerform autonomous maintenance activities to optimize line performanceAssist maintenance technicians with preventive maintenance activitiesConduct inventories of packaging materials and productsPerform activities focusing on safety and complianceEnter transactions in SAP to manage materials from receipt to final productConduct quality checks and document resultsRecord batch activity on computerized systemsIdentify and implement process improvementsEnsure compliance with procedures, work instructions, batch documentation, and good manufacturing practicesSearch for cost savings and waste reduction opportunitiesRequirementsHigh school diploma or GEDAbility to work 12-hour shifts, every other weekend offBasic computer skills (Data entry, email, file access, Microsoft Word and Excel)Manufacturing or production experience (preferred)Experience as a packaging operator (preferred)Familiarity with equipment/machinery maintenance and changeovers (preferred)Effective communication skills and ability to work with teams and management (preferred)Certification in packaging technologies (TFS-80, TFS-30, FPS-4) (preferred)Ability to lift up to 55 pounds, stand, bend, and walk for extended periodsWillingness to work overtime as neededAbility to operate industrial power lifts (pallet jacks and forklifts) (preferred)Basic math skills including percentages, fractions, and decimalsKnowledge of measurement units (e.g., kilograms vs pounds)System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
