Asset Protection Coordinator

Job Purpose The Asset Protection Coordinator (APC) improves the retail customer experience and mitigates company losses to external theft in their assigned store. The role requires superior customer service skills and experiences implementing loss prevention and operational strategies. It reports to the District Asset Protection Leader and collaborates closely with store leadership and specialized divisions within the Asset Protection Department. APCs monitor store activity and gather information on theft and operational vulnerabilities, wearing a specialized CVS store uniform as a deterrent to theft. The position focuses on customer service and theft prevention, not covert apprehension of shoplifters. Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities Provides attentive, friendly customer service; greets all customers, answers general questions, and assists with opening and securing locked shelves and showcases per customer requests. Moves throughout the store to monitor assigned store(s) for activity that causes loss of CVS Pharmacy assets/products. Communicates with Store Management about observations and requests guidance/assistance if theft is suspected. Does not apprehend suspected shoplifters. Inspects high‑risk product categories regularly to detect and deter theft activity. Ensures use of approved asset/product protection equipment and the security labeling program. Prepares External Theft reports in the Auror system as incidents occur and monitors feeds to gather and share intelligence on known repeat offenders with key stakeholders. Responsibilities by Time Allocation 60% Customer service to prevent theft and reduce friction caused by product protection, unlocking and securing devices as needed. 30% External Theft reporting and review potential links of habitual offenders in the Auror system, proactive intelligence sharing with DAPL, ORC Team, and Store Manager. 10% Monitor store compliance with AP‑related programs that prevent external theft, take corrective action within the job description, and report findings to DAPL and Store Leadership. Required Qualifications Physical ability to stand and/or move throughout the store for the majority of the work time, stoop, kneel or crouch, and reach or grasp objects, including lower shelves. Manual dexterity for applying security tags and using keys to open and close locks. Excellent observational skills with the ability to see and hear and to read small print on labels, tags, or containers. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage customers and provide excellent customer service. Ability to prepare and submit external theft reports and to communicate effectively with Asset Protection and Store Leadership teams. Flexibility to work nights and weekends as part of the schedule. Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). 1 to 3 years of related experience.
