As a Registered Nurse in our surgery centers, you will work in the pre-operative area and recovery room to provide expert professional nursing care for our patients during the pre- and post-operative course. Our mission is to be the Best place for patients to receive care, the Best place for employees to work, and the Best place for physicians to practice medicine. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A REGISTERED NURSE PRE-POST/ PAINWorking in our surgery centers gives you many opportunities to interact with and care for surgical and procedural patients. The primary responsibility of the nurse is to care for the patient during the pre-operative, intraoperative and post- operative phases. This includes preparing the patient for the procedure, monitoring the patient, and administering sedation when indicated, assisting the physician during the procedure, and discharging the patient when criteria are met. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A REGISTERED NURSE PRE-POST/ PAINHigh school diploma or equivalentCurrent Wisconsin Registered Nurse licensure or the ability to apply Ability to communicate effectively and have an ability to work compatibly with all physicians and staffAbility to make quick assessments of patients and be able to handle emergency situations appropriatelyCPR, PALS, and ACLS certificationWORK SCHEDULE This position requires working Monday through Friday during hours that patients are in the surgery center. Hours vary depending on the surgery schedule but are typically between 0500-1700.
