Behavioral Health Clinician IThe Behavioral Health Clinician I (BHC I) provides screening, consultation, behavioral intervention, referrals and counseling and therapy to patients within an integrated medical and behavioral health setting. Makes clinical recommendations and refers to appropriate levels of care in a team-based setting. Must be an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), or Marriage and Family Therapist Intern in the State of California. This position requires a strong team player and self-starter. The BHC I will provide mental health and substance abuse assessment and treatment of patients across multiple sites. The BHC I promotes patients self-management and empowers patients/families to achieve maximum levels of wellness and independence.Benefits:Free Medical, Dental & Vision13 Paid Holidays + PTO403 (B) retirement matchLife insurance, EAPTuition ReimbursementSEIU UnionFlexible Spending AccountContinued workforce development & trainingSuccession plans, growth withinRequired Skills/QualificationsEducation: (Required)Master's Degree in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, or other discipline acceptable toward licensure by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as a therapist.Experience: (Required)2 years providing behavioral health services and supports in an integrated health setting.Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred).Licensure/Certification:Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as ACSW or AMFTEssential Duties And ResponsibilitiesPerforms a combination, but not necessarily all, of the following duties:Clinical Patient CareProvide assessment, evaluation and mental health treatment.Provide individual and group therapy to promote overall wellness, in accordance with the treatment plan.Consult with medical providers on psychosocial issues patients bring to their medical appointments.Triage both urgent and routine referrals from medical providers and program staff.Collaborate with staff and providers to schedule patients for intake.Engage in regular case conferencing with program staff and primary care departments.Formulate client-centered treatment plans for assigned clients.Ensure linkage to case management, advocacy, medication monitoring, emergency services, insurance companies, education referrals and consultation with other agencies as appropriate.Collaborate with primary care, prescribing physician, emergency services, program staff, and consult (where appropriate) other agencies regarding each client.Communication and SupportPrepare case presentations when indicated to the multi-disciplinary team.Provide feedback to medical providers and program staff on patients referred.Participate in Integrated Behavioral Health clinical, staff, and other meetings as assigned.Participate in scheduled supervision sessions with clinical and administrative supervisors.AdministrativeMaintain professional licensure.Comply with all medical record keeping requirements for assigned caseload.Meet or exceed productivity objectives.Prepare timely submission of all Electronic Health Record (E.H.R.) records required (i.e. visit notes, billing paperwork and prior authorizations as examples)Schedule work hours and days in accordance with operational needs.Respond and contribute to data collection and other information gathering activities necessary for programs' evaluation, funding and development.St. John's Community Health is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
