In this role, you'll apply title underwriter guidelines to generate accurate title commitments, review search results to determine insurability and transaction-specific requirements and calculate title premiums. You'll partner closely with our underwriter support unit and customers to resolve title issues and help ensure smooth, successful closings. If you're detail-oriented, enjoy problem-solving, and want to be a trusted expert in a collaborative, service-focused environment, we'd like to talk with you about supporting our mission of, "Inspiring financial independence today, with tomorrow in mind!"Why You Should Apply:Competitive compensation package.Accommodating and flexible paid time off.A knowledgeable, goal-driven, and exciting team of colleagues.Exposure to different areas of banking and the ability to work with leaders within the industry.Community-focused events and volunteer opportunities.What You Will Do:Review recorded documents and chain of title to determine insurability.Assembles requirements on the title insurance commitment necessary to insure the title request, as per the title underwriter requirements and guidelines.Calculates premiums and assists with the preparations and approval of documents.Reads and maps legal descriptions.Construction Draws and Endorsements.Policy Preparation and Completion.Other duties as assigned.What We're Looking For:High School Diploma or GED.5+ Years of Prior Title Insurance Examiner Experience.Must hold Michigan Resident Title Producer License.Excellent Communication, Organization, Analytical Skills, and Attention to detail.Must be able to draw and understand legal descriptions.Ability to apply underwriter criteria and guidelines of search results to generate an accurate title commitment.Computer Skills with preferable experience with SoftPro software.This is an exciting step in a journey to creating a fulfilling and rewarding career at Independent Bank.
