What You’ll Do As a Pediatric Medical Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in creating a positive experience for our patients and supporting our providers in delivering exceptional pediatric care. Clinical Responsibilities Welcome and prepare infants, children, and teens for examinations and procedures Obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical histories, and patient concerns Assist pediatric providers with examinations, immunizations, in-office procedures, and treatments Administer vaccines and perform basic laboratory testing as directed Collect and prepare specimens for outside laboratory processing Provide age-appropriate patient and parent education on wellness, preventive care, and treatment plans Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR) Administrative Responsibilities Schedule appointments and coordinate patient flow efficiently Answer phones and assist families with professionalism and compassion Verify insurance information and support front-office operations as needed Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and clinical inventory Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and Illinois healthcare regulations Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Completion of a Medical Assistant training program preferred Current CMA or RMA certification strongly preferred CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain Strong communication and organizational skills Comfort working with children of all ages in a busy clinical setting Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and compassion Preferred Experience Previous experience in pediatrics or family medicine Experience with vaccines, EMR systems, and pediatric workflows Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply Why Join Ravenswood Pediatrics?
