Start Date: September 21, 2026
Location: Lubbock, Texas

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with self-scheduling; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; 12-hour orientation provided

Highlights:

• Level II Trauma Center with 379 staffed beds offering comprehensive stroke and epilepsy monitoring services
• Patient ratios of 1:4 during days and nights, 1:5 on weekends on a 29-bed neuro telemetry unit
• EPIC electronic health record system with interdisciplinary team support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
• Diverse patient population including stroke, TIA, trauma, epilepsy monitoring, and neurosurgical patients (craniotomy, ACDF, TLIF, subdural hematoma)
• Dedicated 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit with continuous EEG monitoring capabilities
• Strong mentorship program with qualified mentors to support new caregivers and ensure optimal onboarding experience

Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse license (Compact state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Current BLS certification
• Experience with telemetry, remote monitoring, neuro stepdown, and 1:4 patient ratios
• Skills in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, code team protocols, peripheral line care, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• Neuro-specific experience preferred: CVA care, post-TPA protocols, craniotomy, aneurysm repair, intracranial bleeds, seizure disorders, spinal cord injury, and neurosurgery patients
• Charting system experience required (any EMR); EPIC experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Willingness to float between units as needed
• Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
