Material Handler / Sit‑Down Forklift Operator – $18/hr Join a team that values safety, stability, and growth

We’re hiring an experienced Sit‑Down Forklift Operator to support daily material movement throughout the facility. If you’re reliable, safety‑focused, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced warehouse environment, this is a great long‑term opportunity with room to grow.

• Safely operate a sit‑down forklift throughout your shift
• Load and unload inbound and outbound trucks
• Move pallets, materials, and finished goods to designated locations
• Stage materials according to production schedules
• Transport WIP materials between production and storage areas
• Complete daily forklift inspections and safety checklists
• Use handheld scanners to track inventory and material locations
• Store and retrieve pallets within warehouse racking systems
• Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate records
• Keep work areas clean and organized following 5S standards
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Support continuous improvement efforts
• Perform general warehouse duties as needed

• Previous sit‑down forklift experience
• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain one)
• Experience in warehouse, shipping, receiving, or material handling
• Ability to read and follow written instructions
• Basic computer and inventory‑tracking skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Reliable attendance and a solid work ethic
• Ability to work independently and with a team

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Newport News, VA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
