Clinical Laboratory Technologist I

Job Summary Clinical Laboratory Technologist I located at Albany Medical Center Hospital (43 New Scotland Avenue, Albany, New York 12208). The evening shift position performs laboratory testing in an accurate and timely manner to support clinicians’ diagnostic and monitoring needs. Compensation Salary: $52,582.00 per year or above, based on qualifications and experience. Work Schedule Shifts: 7:00AM – 3:00PM, 3:00PM – 11:00PM, and 11:00PM – 7:00AM. Occasional weekend and holiday rotation required. Responsibilities Performs testing and reports results on laboratory specimens. Thoroughly, accurately and legibly documents test results and quality control data. Demonstrates basic computer skills. Listens well, takes direction and engages in interactive dialogues with others. Performs maintenance and quality control procedures. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Technology, or a related science degree, with the minimum required credit hours in the sciences. Completed a program accredited by the Clinical Laboratory Technology Accreditation Board. New York State Education Department license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (or meets the grandparenting requirement for licensure). Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and responsibility under the supervision of a Director or Supervisor. Other Requirements Must successfully complete drug testing and criminal background checks upon offer of employment. Role may involve access to HIPAA‑protected health information; staff must comply with privacy and security policies.
