Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Construction Project Manager is a senior-level role responsible for managing civil land development projects through all phases of construction. This position requires strong technical expertise, project ownership, and leadership to deliver high-quality outcomes on schedule and within budget while mentoring junior staff and supporting business development. This position requires the following at a minimum:ResponsibilitiesReading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.Preparing and overseeing quantity takeoffs, estimates, budgets, and schedules from conception through construction closeout.Performing constructability and value engineering reviews during design.Developing bid documents, scope of work, and special provisions for contract documents.Managing the full construction phase, including contractor scheduling and coordination of earthwork, utilities, concrete, asphalt, landscape, and irrigation activities.Coordinating construction matters between owners, contractors, agencies, and stakeholders.Administering construction tasks: managing meetings and minutes, reviewing payment applications and change orders, and tracking RFIs and submittals.Conducting punch list walks and coordinating project closeout and jurisdictional acceptances.Supervising and mentoring associates, delegating tasks, and fostering professional development.Supporting business development through client networking and proposal preparation.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceDegree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field; or equivalent horizontal civil construction experience.Minimum 6+ years of civil land development construction management experience.PMP or CCM certification a plus.Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Project, and AGTEK preferred.Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and contract law understanding.Valid driver's license required.CompetenciesTechnical Knowledge & SkillsDemonstrating a strong ability to interpret, review, and evaluate construction documents and drawings, identifying discrepancies and providing direction to contractors and team members.Maintaining working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D for plan viewing and basic navigation to effectively communicate design intent and field conditions.Maintaining proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook to support project documentation, budget tracking, and stakeholder correspondence.Demonstrating proficiency in construction management platforms, scheduling tools, and estimating software such as Procore, Microsoft Project, and AGTEK to manage projects from bid through closeout.Work Execution, Accountability & Problem SolvingMaintaining a high standard of accuracy by reviewing all deliverables, estimates, and documentation before distribution to minimize errors and reduce field issues.Organizing project files, contracts, and correspondence in accordance with the company's file naming and filing standards to ensure consistency across the project team.Actively managing project goals, schedules, and budgets while proactively communicating changes or risks to stakeholders in a timely manner.Demonstrating strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously without compromising quality.Taking initiative as a self-starter who proactively resolves field and contract issues, takes ownership of outcomes, and drives tasks to completion with minimal oversight.Seeking to understand the broader objectives of each project, aligning construction phase decisions with the client's goals and the firm's standards for quality.Professional Development & GrowthExhibiting a commitment to continuous learning by engaging in Redland's mentoring programs, pursuing relevant certifications, and completing position-specific Learning & Growth goals.Utilizing Redland's Associate Rotation Program to broaden exposure to different market sectors, project types, and managerial approaches.Demonstrating creative thinking by proactively identifying field solutions, value engineering opportunities, and process improvements before escalating to senior leadership.Proactively building industry knowledge by collaborating with Engineers, Landscape Architects, Planners, and Construction Managers to deliver better project outcomes.Communication & CollaborationCommunicating clearly and professionally with contractors, owners, agencies, and internal team members to ensure all parties are informed and aligned.Actively building positive working relationships with clients, contractors, and colleagues, contributing to a collaborative culture that supports project success.Exemplifying Redland's values and professional standards in all project interactions, representing the firm with integrity and accountability.Demonstrating leadership by mentoring associates, providing constructive feedback, and fostering a team environment where growth and accountability are expected.OtherPhysical RequirementsThis position is in-person at our office in Littleton, Colorado.Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer workstationMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
