Junior Swiss Lathe Operator

About the Role: We're looking for a Junior Swiss Lathe Operator to join our precision manufacturing team. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone early in their machining career who wants to grow into a skilled CNC Swiss specialist. You'll work alongside experienced machinists producing high-tolerance components for industrial drive and chain systems, with structured training and a clear path to advancement. What You'll Do: Set up, operate, and monitor CNC Swiss-type lathes to produce precision turned parts Load bar stock, change tooling, and perform basic offsets and adjustments under guidance Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools to verify tolerances Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow all safety and quality procedures Document production data and flag quality or tooling issues to senior operators Perform routine machine maintenance such as coolant checks and chip removal What We're Looking For: High school diploma or GED; technical/vocational training in machining is a plus 0–2 years of machining or manufacturing experience (Swiss lathe exposure preferred but not required) Ability to read basic blueprints and understand GD&T fundamentals Comfort using precision measuring instruments Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to learn Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs Nice to Have: Familiarity with Citizen, Star, or Tornos Swiss machines Basic understanding of G-code and M-code Experience in a regulated or high-volume production environment Why iwis: Structured on-the-job training and mentorship from senior machinists Clear advancement path to Swiss Lathe Operator and beyond Competitive pay, full benefits, 401(k) with company match Stable, German-owned global manufacturer with a growing U.S. footprint Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $18 - $24 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
