Patient Care Coordinator

Responsibilities Promote a professional atmosphere through courteous communication Uphold stellar customer service practices for patients and families Act as a liaison to the physician and hospital departments Check-out patients following appointment Collect and post patient payments Obtain pre-certifications and appointments for patient testing Scan and file medical information into individual patient accounts in EMR Coordinate patient inquiries with physician and physician assistant Schedule new patient and follow-up patient appointments Answer incoming phone calls and take messages Provide routine information to callers Assist patients with prescription renewals Facilitate communication between physician and hospital departments Requirements Associate’s Degree At least two years of related MD office/healthcare experience Familiarity with medical terminology and general office protocol Ability to type 45-60 words per minute Exceptional organizational strengths Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Core Competencies Demonstrates strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities while managing patient interactions and administrative tasks in a healthcare setting. Proficient in medical terminology and experienced in utilizing EMR systems for patient account management.
