Administrative Assistant, Access Team – Grand Junction | Monday–Friday, 8am-5pm Schedule

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
Location: Grand Junction, Colorado
Pay Range: $18.98-$21.00 (Non-Exempt/Hourly)

SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  
The Access Assistant ensures that patients gain timely access to appropriate care while serving as an informational resource for patients and their families. This role is responsible for documentation of referrals, verifying insurance and communicating benefit coverage to potential patients and families for the services being provided, obtaining prior authorization and submitting the necessary clinical documentation to support the requested services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous administrative experience in healthcare preferred including use of EMR.
• Knowledge of Hospice and Palliative Care Program and the ability to communicate this information effectively.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license and unlimited access to reliable transportation maintained throughout employment.
• Adequate automobile insurance maintained throughout employment.

COMPETENCIES & REQUIREMENTS: 

• Experience in general computer usage.
• Good organizational skills so all tasks are completed on time and accurately.
• Word processing and data entry knowledge skills.
• Good relational skills on a personal level and on the telephone.
• Working knowledge of the medical community.
• Working knowledge of available internal and external resources for persons calling for information.
• Ability to participate in office closure, and/or holidays rotation as needed.
