Heavy Duty Diesel & Hydraulic Mechanic Location: Allegany, NY Pay: $23.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience) Job Type: Full-Time Position Summary I&S of NYS Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Diesel & Hydraulic Mechanic to diagnose, repair, overhaul, and maintain heavy diesel-powered and hydraulic equipment. This position is primarily shop-based in Allegany, NY, with occasional field service assignments. We are looking for a skilled mechanic who can troubleshoot independently and perform high-quality repairs on complex equipment. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, powertrains, and mechanical systems Troubleshoot and rebuild hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, motors, and hose assemblies Perform preventative maintenance and major component overhauls Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals Complete welding and light fabrication as needed Maintain accurate service records and follow OSHA safety standards Equipment includes drilling rigs, telehandlers, mud pumps, power swivel units, heavy trucks, trailers, and related hydraulic-driven machinery. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of diesel or heavy equipment mechanic experience Strong hydraulic troubleshooting ability Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Valid Driver's License Physical Requirements Regular lifting up to 50 lbs, frequent bending and kneeling, and ability to work around heavy equipment in shop and outdoor environments.
