Available Shifts & Pay

First Shift

• Schedule: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
• Pay: $25.00 per hour

Second Shift

• Schedule: 1:15 PM – 9:45 PM
• Pay: $26.00 per hour

Position Summary

The Junior Mechanic assists with inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and machinery to support safe and efficient manufacturing operations.

Working alongside experienced maintenance professionals and production personnel, this individual will perform routine maintenance, assist with equipment repairs, identify potential mechanical issues, and help minimize production downtime. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who is eager to learn, strengthen their mechanical abilities, and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Repairs

• Assist with routine preventative maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
• Inspect equipment to identify wear, damage, or potential mechanical issues.
• Assist with repairing or replacing defective components.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance equipment.
• Support equipment reliability and help reduce production interruptions.

Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving

• Assist in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment issues.
• Respond to maintenance requests and support equipment breakdown repairs.
• Work alongside experienced technicians to identify the causes of equipment problems.
• Follow repair instructions, equipment manuals, and established maintenance procedures.
• Document completed maintenance tasks and report recurring equipment issues.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and company safety procedures.
• Adhere to lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements when applicable and properly trained.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Identify and report potential safety hazards.
• Follow applicable quality and manufacturing standards.

Teamwork & Professional Development

• Collaborate with maintenance staff, production employees, and supervisors.
• Communicate equipment concerns and repair progress to the appropriate team members.
• Learn new maintenance techniques, tools, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Participate in team meetings, safety training, and continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of mechanical, maintenance, repair, or related industrial experience.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn new technical skills and follow instructions.
• Commitment to workplace safety, teamwork, and quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical or vocational training in mechanical maintenance, industrial technology, or a related field.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and pneumatic systems.
• Familiarity with equipment manuals, technical drawings, or schematics.
• Exposure to preventative maintenance, welding, or fabrication.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and work in various positions for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work around machinery, manufacturing noise, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to follow established safety procedures when working around industrial equipment.
