About the Role
The Company is seeking a Research Division Chief for Biostatistics and Study Methodology. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic, scientific, and administrative leadership in all aspects of biostatistical, epidemiological, and study design support across the research enterprise. This role involves leading a team of faculty and professional staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality, innovative quantitative support to investigators in various research fields. The Chief will also be instrumental in fostering collaborations, particularly with university partners and external institutions, and will oversee the Division's operations, including budget, staffing, and performance metrics. A key aspect of the position is to mentor and develop early-career investigators and faculty, with a strong commitment to the institutional mission, collaboration, and equity. Applicants for this position at the company must have a Ph.D. in a relevant quantitative discipline, a minimum of 10 years of academic or research experience, and a proven track record of leadership in biostatistics or data science. The role requires outstanding communication and leadership skills, the ability to translate complex statistical concepts to diverse audiences, and a strong record of NIH or equivalent extramural funding. The Chief will be expected to mentor junior faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and biostatisticians, and to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Division. Functional accountabilities include strategic and scientific leadership, operational and administrative oversight, and a commitment to research integrity and data management. The position also involves contributing to research education programs and supporting the development of workshops and curricula in biostatistics and study methodology.
