Key Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or similar role, particularly in a school environment
• Ability to meet RI Department of Education requirements for paraprofessionals
• Experience working with children with varying disabilities—including those with language needs and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)—in grades K-3
• Comfortable assisting with toileting and diaper changing, maintaining a respectful and sensitive approach
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to collaborate with a group of six other teacher assistants (TAs)
• Commitment to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct classroom support to a group of 11 elementary students with diverse developmental and learning differences
• Assist with academic activities, personal care, and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families
• Collaborate with teachers and fellow TAs to maintain an engaging and productive classroom environment
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development as required
