Job Title

Count, weigh, and identify items in shipping and receiving department. Loading and unloading of trucks and completion of shipping and receiving report forms

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following:

• Assist with verifying shipping & receiving materials against vendor's invoices, bills of lading, customer orders, and packing lists.
• Assist in keeping records of damaged or defective products.
• Assist in keeping records of discrepancies in quantities and weights.
• Assist in documenting time, date, quantity, source and destination of material shipped or received.
• Routinely operates a forklift truck and other material handling equipment.
• Inputs data into AS400 accounting system and well as other computer programs.
• May pull prints, verify orders, and insures that orders are not mixed.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly. Responsible for conducting all works in a safe manner following established safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• May participate on project teams as requested.

Education/Experience Required

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Satisfactorily pass forklift driver test.

Other Qualifications

Valid state motor vehicle operator's license. Ability to keep high degree of attention for prevention of injury to others.

Skills and Knowledge Required

• Reading/Writing: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Basic Math: The ability to add, subtract, multiply or divide in all units of measure, whole numbers, fractions, & decimals. Determine the number of individual things in a unit or group.

• Lifting Frequency: Medium heavy lifting 100 lbs. maximum with continuous lifting and/or carrying objects with average weight of 50 lbs.
• Vision: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Repetitive Hand Action: Firm grasping - the ability to exert sufficient grip to pick-up a case of 12 oz. soft drinks or to pick-up a bowling ball. Requires approximate grip strength of 45-60 lbs. on a hand dynamometer.
