Automotive Smog Technician (repair license required (Hiring Bonus)

Automotive TechnicianThe Automotive Technician is responsible for inspecting and repairing cars and light trucks. She/he provides the mechanical support for the dealership. Utilize state-approved smog inspection equipment and software. Diagnose and repair vehicle emissions systems to pass smog inspections. Maintain accurate and complete inspection records. Adhere to all state and federal smog inspection regulations.Vehicle Repair: Diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle emission system components, including: Catalytic converters, Oxygen sensors, EGR valves, PCV valves, Mass airflow sensors, Evaporative emissions systems. Perform necessary repairs accurately and efficiently. Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot emission system problems. Advise customers on necessary repairs and provide accurate cost estimates.Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to all customers. Explain repair procedures and costs clearly and concisely. Answer customer questions and concerns promptly and professionally. Build and maintain strong customer relationships.Other Duties: Maintain a clean and organized work area. Assist other service technicians as needed. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on the latest emissions regulations and repair techniques. Adhere to all dealership policies and procedures.Qualifications:Required: Valid and current state-issued smog inspection license. ASE certifications in Engine Repair and/or Emissions Repair (preferred). Proven experience in automotive repair, with a focus on emissions systems. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Preferred: Experience with a variety of vehicle makes and models.
