Job Overview:

WilliamSmith Fireplaces of SC LLC is seeking a Gas Service Technician to join our team. We specialize in providing top-quality fireplace and chimney services for both residential and commercial clients. This position requires expertise in chimney sweeping, inspection, and maintenance, with a strong focus on safety, customer service, and craftsmanship. While CSIA certification is a plus, it is not required-we are willing to provide training and support the right candidate in obtaining industry certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair gas, propane, fireplace, and chimney systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to propane lines, gas appliances, venting systems, and fireplaces.
• Perform chimney cleaning, fireplace servicing, and safety inspections in compliance with company and industry standards.
• Ensure all installations and repairs meet local codes, safety regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
• Educate customers on proper system usage, maintenance, and safety practices.
• Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and work orders accurately and on time.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in clean and safe working condition.
• Work safely in confined spaces, on rooftops, ladders, and in varying weather conditions.
• Collaborate with team members and management to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
• Identify potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions or system upgrades when needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience in a commercial construction-related role
• Sales experience within the commercial construction industry
• Candidates with backgrounds in construction, propane companies, gas services, or low-voltage electrical work possess transferable skills that align well with the this role, we encourage those candidates to apply.
• Previous experience as a chimney sweep, fireplace technician, or similar trade is preferred.
• CSIA Certification is a plus but not required.
• Company paid training class to help you obtain your CSIA certification.
• Strong understanding of chimney and fireplace systems, venting, and safety standards.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, on rooftops, and in various weather conditions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor as required.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Schedule:

• Full-time position
• Monday - Friday, occasional weekends as needed
